
Consumer prices for automobile gasoline in Russia for a week from January 14 to January 20 rose 0.9%, the State Statistics Committee said. A week after a week, price increases slows down: in the first week of the year, gasoline has risen in price by 1.9%, from January 6 to 13 - by 1.2%.
According to experts, the maximum price increase is recorded in the mound. There, the most popular gasoline of the AI-92 brand went up by 13.4%, and the average price increase was 11.7%.
In Moscow, gas prices either remained the same or slightly decreased, in St. Petersburg, fuel became 0.4%more expensive. Now in the capital, gasoline is slightly cheaper than in the whole country, and in St. Petersburg - more expensive.
In parallel with the statistics of gasoline prices, the Goskomstat evaluates the volume of oil workwork in the country. Russian refineries processed 3.4 million tons in a week, increasing production by 4.8%, Interfax reports.
From January 1, 2003, amendments to the chapter 22 of the Tax Code entered into force, according to which excise taxes on oil products increased by 45%. Experts call this as one of the main reasons for rising prices.
