The former head of Stavropol is brutally beaten

On Monday, at about 9 a.m. near the house where he lives, the former mayor of the city of Stavropol Ivan Tymoshenko was brutally beaten in the city center. The criminals attacked Tymoshenko when he left the entrance.

The former head of Stavropol was hospitalized with a diagnosis of “concussion of the brain, a fracture of the facial skeleton,” reports Regions.ru .

According to Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Morgun, the driver of the car Tymoshenko tried to stand up for the owner, but was also beaten. Having dealt with the official, the attackers calmly hid on foot.

Tymoshenko, who held the post of head of the administration of the regional center from December 2001 until the fall of 2002, and now on administrative leave, was taken to the hospital in serious condition. According to doctors, he still cannot speak.

Police officers are searching for attackers. It has already been established that the night before they were seen in the courtyard of the house where Ivan Tymoshenko lives. The causes and motives of the incident are clarified. An investigation is being conducted, the police are looking for criminals, Interfax reports.

According to a preliminary investigation, there were two raiders. The investigation does not exclude that the attack had a custom character.

In December 2001, Ivan Tymoshenko was appointed to the post of mayor of Stavropol deputies at a meeting of the City Duma of the regional center. Before his appointment, he held the post of deputy head of Stavropol Mikhail Kuzmin.

Mikhail Kuzmin was elected to the post of deputy of the Stavropol Regional Duma of the third convocation and abandoned the mayor of the city, while the need arose to appoint a new city chapter for the deadline remaining until the next elections.

However, Tymoshenko did not hand out the head of the city for two years. In October 2002, he was shifted from his position. The reasons why Tymoshenko was removed from office, the deputies called purely economic: municipal services work poorly, debts are growing, and the budget is spent irrationally.

Tymoshenko was guilty of non -compliance with the terms of the contract "in terms of the obligations assigned to him to ensure the safety and rational use of municipal property, compliance with the current legislation and the implementation of decisions of the City Duma." He was also charged with shares in three commercial firms, which contradicts the law. The new mayor was the deputy of the regional Duma Dmitry Kuzmin.
