The new Customs Code of Russia may come into force on January 1, 2004. This was stated by the deputy chairman of the State Duma of the State Duma Valery Draganov.
According to his forecasts, in March-April the Code will be held on the 2nd and 3rd readings in the State Duma, Belarus Today reports.
At the same time, said Draganov, the statement of the Customs Union of Russia and Belarus in its current form was a mistake.
According to him, in the framework of this Union, customs duties are still not unified, and until this is not the case, the activities of the Union cannot be effective.
Draganov also believes that it is necessary to introduce a ban on the supply of Belarusian goods to Russia, which are carried out for preferential taxation. In addition, within the framework of the Customs Union, it is necessary to strengthen external customs borders in Belarus.
However, according to him, "while Alexander Lukashenko is in power, we will not be able to agree on."
