In the Spanish city of Castelon, the 5th meeting of representatives of the main world religions "Dialogue of Faith and Culture", dedicated to peace and struggle against violence, RIA Novosti reports. The followers of Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Judaism and Buddhism take part in it.
As noted, opening the meeting, the well -known Christian theologian Hoan Lyidido, “representatives of all religions of the world advocate the world” and this is especially important to emphasize now, when “warlike hysteria” is excessed in connection with the situation around Iraq. As you know, the Spanish government, headed by Jose Maria Asnar, supports the US position on the Iraqi problem. According to Lyidido, "the struggle for the eradication of violence is now the main goal of all religions."
The head of the Hindu Society of Sivarand Ashram Bhak-Tidas, in turn, emphasized that the war is condemned by his religion as a "manifestation of human ignorance," and added that he personally "is ashamed of Bush and Asnar."
The Buddhist monk from Tibeta Basili noted that his religion "as the main goals strives for peace and harmony", which "are organically inherent in human nature."
The meeting participants are looking forward to the speeches of the representatives of the two religions, which are dominant in countries where a particularly implacable war is now - Muslim and Jew.
