US will help Ukraine join the WTO

The United States is ready to continue to promote Ukraine in the process of its accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO), the US Ambassador to Ukraine said Carlos Paskual.

"I can assure that from the USA there is a serious interest in helping Ukraine in the issue of joining the WTO, since this is good for both of our countries," he said, answering the question of Interfax agency during communication with journalists on Saturday in Kyiv.

The ambassador emphasized that this will contribute to Ukraine to accept international standards, the development of trade and attract investment. At the same time, Pasqual emphasized: "Our interest in this matter is not related to sending the Ukrainian battalion to Kuwait."

When asked by the agency, is it possible to say that there are no serious obstacles between Ukraine and the USA in these negotiations, Paskual replied: "I think that we can say this - we have a chance to achieve an effective result if we can focus on a specific solution to specific problems."
