This week ended the disqualification period of Russian gymnasts Alina Kabaeva and Irina Chashchina, and they will perform at the international rhythmic gymnastics tournament 'Baltic Hook'. The tournament, in which representatives of 11 countries are going to take part, will be held on April 12-13 in Riga, ITAR-TASS reports.
The leaders of world rhythmic gymnastics, due to a protracted decision on the legality of their disqualification in the Arbitration Court of Sports (KAS), were not able to go to the carpet at the European Championship, held in the German city of Riza at the end of last week. Due to the CAS wire, Russian gymnasts could only return on April 8, while the European championship ended on April 6. Therefore, it is very important for Russians to demonstrate that they are still legislators of mod in this sport.
Alina Kabaeva reported 'SE' that she did not stop training, despite the pass of the European Championship 2003, and is now being prepared at the training base in Novogorsk for its first official start after disqualification.
