The pilot of the Mi-24 crashed in Chechnya survived 17 hours after the disaster

During the preliminary investigation of the disaster of two helicopters in the Chechnya mountains, it was found that one of the pilots remained alive another 17 hours after the disaster. This was announced on Tuesday by Interfax, an informed source at the SKVO headquarters, who took part in the investigation.

"The preliminary investigation of the causes of the disaster of two Mi-24 helicopters was completed. In particular, it was found that in a collision with rocky soils, not all helicopters died immediately. One of the operators pilots was alive another 17 hours after the disaster," said the representative of the squadron. According to him, due to the fact that the search and rescue work was difficult to rescue with difficult weather conditions and took place in the inaccessible area, the pilot could not be saved.

Two military helicopters of the Mi-24 federal forces, each of which had two crew members, crashed on March 20 on the slopes of Mount Daikhokh in the Shata district of Chechnya, 65 km from Grozny. The place of the fall of one of them was discovered on March 25 in the mountains at an altitude of about 3 thousand meters above sea level. On April 2, the search and rescue services found the place of the second Mi-24 disaster.
