In Russia, a bell for an Orthodox church destroyed on September 11, 2001 is cast in Russia

The bell intended for the Orthodox Church, destroyed during the attack on September 11 in New York, was cast at the Moscow enterprise LitEx. As the ITAR-TASS agency was informed today in the department of external church ties of the Moscow Patriarchate (MPC MP), it was transferred to the representative of the Patriarchate of Constantinople Archbishop to the American Demetrius.

The Patriarchate of Constantinople belonged to the Church of St. Nicholas, who was under the ruins of the World Trade Center. This church was built back in 1916 by Greek immigrants. It contained icons donated by the last Russian emperor Nicholas II. Now the temple is restored.

Another bell, cast on the Litex, will take a place on a special commemorative bell tower of the Moscow courtyard of the Orthodox Church in America.

On each bell, inscriptions in Russian and English are made: “Come on, Lord, their souls with the world”, and reliefs with the image of saints are also placed.
