Rosaviacosmos: the number of versions of the causes of the death of Columbia decreased to two

Only 2 out of 10 initial versions of the COLUMBIA shuttle disaster left, RIA Novosti was told in Rosaviacosmos.

According to the Russian Space Agency, both variants of the disaster are associated with the separation of part of the shuttle sheathing at the start.

"These versions are reinforced by telemetry data and the analysis of the fragments of the ship found. They differ only in the place on the left wing of the" shuttle ", which received serious damage on take -off, and otherwise they are almost identical," Rosaviacosmos noted.

According to the first version, the U -shaped heat -shielding tile on the edge of the left wing was destroyed. According to the second version, the destruction of the coating also occurred on the edge of the left wing, but closer to the fuselage.

Deciphering the data of the on -board self -script found in Texas on March 19 confirms the first version. It was on the U-shaped heat-pounding tile that the temperature increase inside the case was noted, and it was from there that the most abnormal information to the Earth went.

“Already now it becomes clear that the destruction of the ship did not start 30 minutes before the planned landing, but 82 seconds after takeoff, when the tiles of the casing were torn off and hit the left wing at high speed, obviously causing a crack there,” Rosaviacosmos said.
