Shipulin will leave after the Olympics

The mentor of the volleyball male team of Russia and the Belgorod club "Lokomotiv-Belogorye" Gennady Shipulin will stop coaching after the Olympics in Athens. This, according to ITAR-TASS, he stated at a meeting with Belgorod fans immediately after the end of the second match of the Russian Championship with the Perm Uralsvyazinform. The victory over Permeaki made this weekend the Lokomotiv-Belogorye, who won the Champions volleyball league a month ago, a five-time champion of Russia.

“With the club, we completed all the tasks this season,” said Shipulin. “Now I have only one task - to win the 2004 Olympics. However, regardless of the result in Athens, I decided to leave the coaching work in the national team and the club.”

Lokomotiv-Belogorye is a basic club in the national team: seven "railway workers" are regularly involved in the banners of the country's main volleyball team. In this regard, the early championship will allow you to "take a breath" to the team leaders who, after a small vacation (Shipulin decided to give a rest, in particular, Sergei Tetyukhin and Vadim Hamuttsky) will purposefully prepare for the matches of the national team.

The country's first training collection will hold the country's national team on May 10 in Novogorsk, after which two friendly meetings with the German team will be played in Moscow.
