The selection of experts will begin in the process in the Budanov case, who will conduct a psychological and psychiatric examination

In the North Caucasus District Military Court in the process in the case of Yuri Budanov, it is expected that the selection of experts will begin on Tuesday, who will conduct a psychological and psychiatric examination in relation to the defendant. It is expected that on this day nine experts proposed by the parties to the process as possible candidates will arrive in court.

The court provided the parties with the opportunity to collect the commission on the basis of the wishes of the parties. The defense was provided a list, which included eight candidates, six of whom confirmed the possibility of their participation. At the request of the defense, three specialists of the Serbian Institute, on the basis of which a psychological and psychiatric examination was conducted in relation to Budanov, were caused in Rostov-on-Don.

The prosecution announced the desire to introduce four specialists into the commission, from the victims of the victims on Tuesday to the court, as expected, one candidate will arrive - the chief psychiatrist of the Chechen Republic Moussaev.

As the judge Vladimir Bukreev explained, during the selection of candidates the question of the possibility of attracting them as experts from the point of view of the law will be clarified. In addition, scientists will be given the issue of their competence in connection with the upcoming examination, RIA Novosti reports

The former commander of the 160th tank regiment, Colonel Yuri Budanov, was accused of abduction and murder of 18-year-old Chechenka Elsa Kungaeva. The process over the colonel lasted almost two years.

On December 31, 2002, the court recognized Budanov as insane and prescribed forced treatment in a special type of medical institution. The state prosecution and the side of the victims who appealed the verdict in the Supreme Court did not agree with this decision.

The court decided to cancel the verdict and appoint a new consideration of the case by other composition of the court.
