The culprit of the fire in Kazachinsky was arrested for his own safety

Just three days ago, on the streets of the village of Kazachinskoye, 200 km north of Krasnoyarsk, it was possible to shoot films about the Great Patriotic War: against the background of a blue sky, bare chimneys and exhausted people digging through mountains of garbage in the hope of finding at least something from property acquired over the years. The village, as you know, was destroyed by a fire - the largest in the Krasnoyarsk Territory in the last 100 years. The journalists, having reported this emergency, left the village. People were left in the ashes.

The fire happened on May 25. The owner of one of the private houses was cleaning up his yard and, despite the strong wind, decided to burn the garbage that had accumulated over the winter. To put it mildly, the drunk man (on the occasion of the weekend) did not keep an eye on the fire. Sparks spread throughout the village. A hurricane wind fanned the flames more strongly, and after a while gas cylinders began to explode in houses engulfed in fire. The fire was extinguished only after six hours - people did not have time to put out the flames at one end of the village before they flared up at the other.

As a result, 55 houses burned down. About 200 people (among them 42 children) were left without property and without a roof over their heads. A 60-year-old man died in the fire. Another person was hospitalized with 20 percent burns to his body. The culprit of the fire is now in the Krasnoyarsk pre-trial detention center - mainly for his own safety. Local police officers claim that if this person appears in Kazachinskoye, it will be impossible to prevent lynching. Most of the residents of the burnt village, according to psychologists who have been working there for more than a week, are now in a state of deep depression. Some did not sleep for two or three days after the fire. Doctors are doing everything in their power, but only really serious material help can bring people out of their psychological stupor.

Governor Alexander Khloponin promised that each fire victim would receive 5 thousand rubles within three days, a set of food for two weeks, a mattress, blankets, clothes, shoes. In addition, all children will be sent to summer holiday camps free of charge, and pensioners will be sent to boarding houses for the elderly. A temporary representative office of the regional OVIR has also opened in Kazachinsky, which will help fire victims restore lost documents. And most importantly, by October 1, all the villagers left without a roof over their heads will have housing. According to Alexander Khloponin’s calculations, the construction of 50 new houses in Kazachinskoye will require approximately 75 million rubles. There is not enough money in the regional budget, so the governor turned to the residents of the Krasnoyarsk Territory for help. However, there was no particular need for this. On the very first day (long before the official appeal), hundreds of Krasnoyarsk residents brought clothes, shoes, dishes, food to local authorities, and the head of one of the neighboring districts handed over five cows and a thousand chickens to the village administration.

Now cars with construction materials and heavy equipment are coming to Kazachinskoye one after another. There is a problem with housing for workers and machine operators. And in Krasnoyarsk yesterday the results of the competition for the best project of a residential building in the village were summed up. Alexander Khloponin demanded that new houses in Kazachinskoye be better than the old ones. Yesterday they finished clearing the rubble in the village. Construction of new houses will begin in the coming days.
