Iraq chose exporters for his oil

Iraq announced the results of a tender for the purchase of 10 million barrels of oil from storage facilities in port terminals in Jaehan and Mina-al-Bakra. The Iraqi State Marketing Company SOMO, which is an export unit of the Iraq Ministry of Oil, said that six companies were the winners.

According to SOMO Director General Mohamed al-Jiburi, Americans from Chevrontexaco, Spanish oil refineries Repsol and Cepsa, Turkish company TuPras, Italian Energy Concern ENI and the French oil company Total will export the first Iraqi oil. As you can see, there are no Russian companies.

According to al-Jiburi, half of the 10 million barrels stored in port terminals will be sent to the United States, K2kapital reports. Another 4 million will go to Europe. Another 1 million barrels were left as "tolerance".

By announcing the tender at the end of the last week, al-Jiburi said that oil from storage facilities will be shipped from June 17 to 30, and after that Iraq would begin to sign oil supply contracts in regular mode.

In parallel with this, the head of the Ministry of Oil Iraq Tamir Gadban said that the level of oil production is 1.5 million barrels per day, which Iraq planned to reach in mid -June, will be reached only at the end of the month. Of these 1.5 million, about 1 million barrels of oil per day will be sent for export. According to the estimates of Gadban, it will only become possible to reach the pre -war level of oil production by mid -2004.

Currently, according to Gadban, about 500 thousand barrels of oil per day and in the southern deposits are produced at the northern deposits of Iraq. About 200 thousand internal needs for oil are about 500 thousand barrels per day.
