In the Czech Republic on Friday, a two -day referendum will begin on the country's entry into the European Union. In accordance with the country's constitution, the decree on the conduct of plebiscite was signed by President of the Czech Republic, Vaclav Klaus, President of the Czech Republic.
According to the Law "On a referendum", the Czechs will be able to vote for joining the united Europe within two days - on Friday, June 13 /from 14:00 to 22:00 /, and on Saturday, June 14 /from 8:00 to 14:00 /.
Citizens of the country will have to answer the question: "Do you agree that the Czech Republic in accordance with the agreement on joining the EU becomes a member of the European Union?"
The day before, Klaus made an appeal to the nation and urged citizens to take an active part in the referendum on the country's entry into the European Union. The head of state called the upcoming popular vote "historical."
Klaus did not openly call on to vote “pros” or “against” joining the EU. The President believes that voters will be seriously reacted to the plebiscite and independently decide.
"Each of us will have to decide whether it is advisable to voluntarily convey part of the sovereignty and independence to a large supranational education," Klaus noted. The President emphasized that a referendum on joining the EU is more important for the country than parliamentary elections that take place every 4 years. According to Claus, you can only join the united Europe only once.
"We must also proceed from the fact that the European Union is now undergoing a difficult discussion about the future of the EU," the head of state believes. In his opinion, the results of the discussion can change the conditions of the Czech Republic in the United Europe that a new plebiscite will be needed in a year or two.
According to the latest data from sociologists, 55 percent of citizens are ready to take part in the referendum on the entry of the Czech Republic, while 82 voters will speak out "for" joining the EU.
The Euro -referend in the Czech Republic will be recognized as held in any case, since the law does not establish the lower limit of voters.
