In total, TVS's revenues for six months (TVS began broadcasting last summer) amounted to a little more than $11 million. Therefore, market participants are confident that advertisers will not lose too much by shutting down TVS. “The troubles with TVS began a long time ago, so all the major advertisers managed to withdraw their advertising budgets from the channel. There was a minimum of paid and unshown advertising on TVS,” says Sergei Krivonogov, general director of Navigator DDB. Experts estimate this amount at approximately $1 million. “When advertising on television, an advance payment is almost always required, so now advertising agencies will have to take the money paid from the channel and return it to clients,” says the president of the Russian Association of Advertising Agencies (RARA), vice president communication group "Maxima" Vladimir Evstafiev.
However, the information and analytical department of the Video International group of companies, which sells TVS advertising time in Moscow, is confident that there will be no problems in resolving this issue. “Disconnection of TVS is a force majeure event specified in our contracts. Now all issues will be resolved separately with each advertiser,” says department head Viktor Kolomiets.
