The conversations of drivers on cell phones are dangerous, regardless of whether the driver holds the phone in their hands, or uses the means of "high -connection". This conclusion was reached by Swedish scientists.
In the course of a study conducted by the National District Administration (SNRA) by order of the Sweden government, scientists have finally proved that the “high -profile means” do not reduce the risk of an accident. Two groups of 48 people were formed. In the first group, drivers held the phone in their hand, and in the second, the “Lumber Communications” were used. Within an hour and a half, a car drive simulation, each subject called 10 times on the phone.
The results of the experiment clearly showed that the use of “high -connection devices” does not affect the behavior of the driver and, therefore, the safety of movement, reports Reuters.
“Inattention leads to an accident. The driver is distracting the fact of the conversation, and not whether he holds the phone in his hand or not,” said Ingmar SNRA.
In many European countries, it is forbidden to talk on a mobile phone while driving, since the risk of traffic accidents on the roads rises at least four times. In Germany, for example, a similar ban applies even to cyclists, and its failure to fulfill it with a fine of 60 euros for drivers of the car, and 30 for cyclists.
In Luxembourg, a penalty for a mobile conversation in the car is 74 euros, in Spain 91 euros, and in Hungary 125 euros. The most strict punishment is provided in Belgium - in addition to a monetary fine, violators are threatened with a imprisonment for up to one month.
However, such restrictions most often do not apply to drivers using speakerphones. It was always believed that such devices reduce the danger of an accident.
Recall that in Sweden the law is not forbidden to talk on the phone at the wheel. SNRA employees say that they do not plan to recommend a similar law to the government.
