
A person who is sympathetic in Indonesia in the extremist Islamic group "Jema Islami" was detained by the Indonesian police at the time of the preparation of new terrorist attacks. This was reported by Interfax with reference to the information received today from official sources in Jakarta.
He is known under the names of Mohamed Ihsan, Idris, Johni Handravan and Jambrot. He was detained by employees of the Indonesian Security Service in the city of Medan on the island of Sumatra.
According to police representatives, the detainee did not occupy any posts to Jemaa Islam, but was only one of those who participated in last year’s terrorist attacks on the island of Bali, as a result of which about 200 people died, as well as in some other subversive promotions.
The police reported that M. Ihsan graduated from the Islamic religious school in the south of Malaysia, where the imam of Samudra (he was considered the organizer of the attack on the island of Bali) and another of the leaders of Jema Islamia.
