36 people were hospitalized at the central city hospital of Buinaksk (Dagestan) with a diagnosis of hepatitis A (colloquially jaundice). 34 of the sick are pupils of municipal kindergarten No. 12. According to the chief doctor of the hospital, Magomed Mamaev, the children were allegedly infected in early June. The incubation period of the disease lasts from 15 to 45 days. The first victims with acute jaundice began to be admitted to the hospital on June 18. The rest were identified by local doctors. To date, 34 children from the kindergarten and two parents have been hospitalized. Doctors believe that the infection occurred either through food or water, although the kindergarten has an autonomous water supply system that is not connected to the citywide one.
