On July 10, the Premiere of the performance of the famous Lithuanian director Emuntas Nyakroshus "Cherry Orchard" will take place in the theater center. The premiere of the performance is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Chekhov play and to the 140th anniversary of Konstantin Sergeyevich Stanislavsky.
To put the "Cherry Garden" with Russian actors Nyakroshus was proposed by the International Foundation named after Stanislavsky. The director himself immediately admitted that the project scares him, but said that he was glad that he was invited to put such a good play.
As it is assumed, the performance will become the most ambitious theatrical project of recent times - for the first time after the end of GITIS, Nyakroshus agreed to work with Russian actors, despite the fact that they tried to “lure” the director to Moscow repeatedly, Interfax reports.
The rehearsals of the performance were held first in Vilnius, at the Meno Fortas Theater, which is headed by the nyakroshus, then the actors and director began to rehearse at Stanislavsky’s house in Leontyevsky Lane in Moscow.
Lyudmila Maksakova (Ranevskaya), Evgeny Mironov (Lopakhin), Alexey Petrenko (Firs), Vladimir Ilyin (Gaev), Irina Apksimova (Charlotte) and other famous actors are engaged in the play.
Aimuntas Nyakroshus is one of the leading directors widely recognized in the world. His performances "Hamlet", "Othello", "Macbeth" are successfully in many countries. The head of Meno Fortas often takes part in authoritative international theater festivals. The Moscow production of Nyakroshus is also being forgiven by commercial and festival success.
