Nevertheless, last Sunday John said that he was resigned, explaining his decision by the fact that his appointment could damage the unity of the church. This was also mentioned by the Archbishop of Canterbury, who had previously approved the decision to appoint John in Reding. Nevertheless, protests within the Anglican church were marked. “We understand that the appointment of Canon John caused serious discontent of people who could not be called extremists in any way and many of whom were voluntarily recognized in personal respect for Canon John,” the archbishop said.

However, it seems that the decisive role of the retired Canon John played pressure from the part of the not British, but foreign Anglican-tradealists. Williams believes that the appointment of Canon-Gei would have moved them and thus impoverished the entire church.

But in England there are many representatives of the clergy and parishioners, confident that the Bible prohibits homosexuality. Voen Roberts, a pastor of one of the Oxford temples, demanded that John of Repentance for an active homosexual life in the past. “I think what was done was done completely correctly.
