The Ministry of Internal Affairs increased control over enterprises producing explosives

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia increased control over the activities of enterprises that produce explosives of industrial and military purposes, and for organizations performing work with explosives.

As stated in Friday, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on Friday, the corresponding instruction was given to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Boris Gryzlov.

Almost 5,000 domestic industrial enterprises are taken under control, the press release notes.

"For the first half of 2003, 131 crime using explosives and explosive devices was prevented in the country, - the words of the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are given in the message of the ministry. - 74 of them in the Chechen Republic, in the other Russian regions - 57."

In the course of special operations, thousands of weapons and ammunition, hundreds of explosive devices, more than half a ton of explosives were seized from attackers, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.

In particular, during the operational operation "Dynamite Balance" more than 50 tons of explosives and 107 means of initiation were seized, RIA Novosti reports.

The activities of 43 objects were suspended that produced or distributed explosives of industrial and military purposes, the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.
