The Internet is threatened by the computer virus MS BLAST

The authorities of Japan turned to Internet providers calling for urgently to take measures against a new variety of Blaster virus, because of which today almost 18 thousand computers of the Japanese postal service and administrations of two prefectures had to be disconnected from internal networks.

The network worm is called MS Blast. He also attacks Microsoft operating systems, but uses other "holes" in the security programs to penetrate than Blaster. Therefore, to combat it, you need another antivirus vaccine.

According to Japanese providers, over the past day, MS Blast infected over 23.5 thousand computers around the world, ITAR-TASS reports.

“There is a chance that this version of the virus will cover the entire Internet community,” the Kyododo Tsusin agency quotes the Ministry of Administrative Affairs.

Today it was discovered on a network of about 6 thousand machines used by Japan's postal service to exchange data between departments throughout the country. Currently, they are all scanned by antivirus programs. For the same reason, about 8 thousand computers of the Osaka Prefecture Administration, and 3.7 thousand were disabled from internal networks in the Yamaguti Prefecture.
