In six days, the Max-2003 International Airlines Salon, which took place from August 19 to 24 in Zhukovsky near Moscow, visited up to 700 thousand people. This was stated by the First Deputy General Director of Rosaviacosmos Valery Voskobobonikov, Interfax reports.

"According to the organizers of the salon, up to 700 thousand people visited the air show. These are not high, these are objective figures. The flight program of the air show is unique and has no analogues in the world," Voskoboinikov said at a final press conference on the closure of MAKS-2003.

A record number of aircraft was presented at the current salon - on the ground and in the air, viewers and participants saw more than 200 aircraft and helicopters of various class and purpose.

498 enterprises of Russia and the CIS and 165 companies from 38 countries of the far abroad showed their new developments in the field of aviation and space equipment.

Participants in the cabin got acquainted with the aircraft of the "SU" generations "4" and "4+". Including-with the Su-27SK fighter, the Su-30MK and Su-35 multifunctional fighters, the Su-32 multifunctional fighter-bomber, Su-25SMK and Su-25TM assault boards, Su-25UBK and Su-35UB training aircraft, Su-33 ship-basing aircraft and Su-27 Kub.

Its participants became more than 500 domestic and 150 foreign firms, corporations and enterprises involved in the development, design, operation and maintenance of aircraft, helicopters and spacecraft.

On the last day of the air show, the demonstrations of Russian, Italian, French, American pilots took place.

According to the security officer of the salon Elena Korotaeva, when checking visitors to the air -hollow salon, several dozen people with weapons were detained at the checkpoint.

According to Korotaeva, these were people who have the right to wear weapons, and they had appropriate certificates.

“The weapon was seized, and they will receive it after the working day of the cabin,” she said. “It is another matter that several dozen people tried to carry knives. Cold weapons were seized, 24 gas cans were also seized.”
