Luzhkov proposes to increase the size of subsidies for the nutrition of students in grades 5-11 more than three times

Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov spoke out to revise the sizes of subsidies to power of high school students. Currently, the amount of subsidies for the nutrition of students in grades 5-11 is three rubles per day.

"The amount will iron illogical and does not correspond to the spirit of time. It needs to be adapted and switched to a differentiated approach to subsidies," Luzhkov said on Friday at a meeting on the preparation of the city for the new school year.

According to the mayor, the size of subsidies must be increased by 11 rubles per day. At the same time, he noted that "children from families with dysfunctional income should receive more." In this regard, Luzhkov said that he intends to contact Vladimir Putin with a request to revise the norm.

At the same time, the mayor instructed the city administration to find the opportunity to increase the number of high school students receiving subsidies for food at the expense of the city budget. Currently in Moscow there are 544 thousand students in grades 5-11, RIA Novosti reports.

The metropolitan authorities intend to equip all Moscow schools with a metallic recipients and alarm buttons. Yuri Luzhkov instructed to work out the appropriate program for the phased equipment of schools by means of security and submit this document for consideration by the city government in September.

"Today, the security situation in the city is very difficult, and we need to take care of the safety of our children," Luzhkov said at a meeting on the preparation of the city for the new school year.

It is possible that metal detectors will appear in schools already during the upcoming elections, and at their end - the security funds will remain on the balance of the Department of Capital Education.

The head of the Department of Education, Lyubov Kezin, in turn, stated that the chiefs of district departments together with the FSB and the Ministry of Internal Affairs have already considered this issue. She also said that in Moscow schools, the problems of fire safety and compliance with sanitary standards have not been fully resolved.

“On fire safety in the capital's schools, a minimum has been made,” Kezina emphasized. “It takes one and a half billion rubles to complete the problem, while only 200 million is allocated,” she added.

As for sanitary standards, here the main problem is the absence of hot water eyeliner in half of Moscow schools, said the head of the Department of Education.

From the point of view of fire safety, Moscow schools are ready for the beginning of the new school year, said Deputy Head of the UGPS Moscow Vladimir Rodin at a press conference on Friday. “Now it is impossible to say that schools are dangerous for our children,” he said.

Rodin noted that over the past years, new automatic fire safety systems have been installed in Moscow schools and other educational institutions, faulty electrical equipment and wiring were replaced, “deaf” grates from the windows were removed.

He added that at one of the closest meetings of the Moscow government, the target fire safety program will be considered, Interfax reports.

In turn, the representative of the Department of Education Zoya Salazkin at a press conference noted that from 1.1 to 1.3 billion rubles allocated from the city budget annually from the city budget. A significant amount of these tools goes to ensure fire safety, she noted.
