Moscow police officers detained a group of Moldovan migrant workers who are suspected of murdering cadet of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Evgeniy Ostrovsky, the son of Igor Ostrovsky, who was arrested in the case of corruption in the Moscow Criminal Investigation Department. Ostrovsky Jr. was found dead with signs of severe beatings and a broken head on the night of August 24 near his home on Novoyasenevsky Prospekt. It was assumed that the cadet was the victim of a robbery. While working on this version, MUR detectives came across a gang of illegal workers from Moldova who were engaged in street robberies in Moscow. According to preliminary data, they came across Evgeny Ostrovsky on the street by chance when he was returning home after seeing off a girl. After beating the young man, the criminals took his mobile phone, work ID and 2 thousand rubles. Evgeny Ostrovsky was buried on Wednesday. Representatives of the Prosecutor General's Office, leading a scandalous case of corruption against “werewolves in uniform,” allowed Colonel Igor Ostrovsky to attend his son’s funeral, where he was taken under escort.
