The monks and nuns from the Ural monasteries along with the laity intend to take part in the elections of the governor of the Sverdlovsk region on September 7.
As Hieromonk Flavian, the rector of the Krestovozdvozhnaya Monastery, told the New Region , there is no ban on the participation of monks in the elections in the Ural abode, since each believer has the right to have his own civil position.
Like the laity, the inhabitants of the Crusader Monastery had the opportunity to get acquainted with the agitation materials of all candidates for governors. Those monks who will express the desire to vote will be able to receive their passports from the administration of the monastery and go to the polling station.
Along with his wards, Flavian Father will take part in the elections. According to him, he had already chosen a candidate in whose favor he would give his vote, but refused to name his name.
