A large batch of counterfeit documents was detained by border guards of the North Caucasus Regional Directorate (SKRU) on the Abkhaz section of the Russian-Georgian border. According to the headquarters of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, on Sunday at the Veseloe-Avtodorozhnoe border crossing, a Volga car driven by a resident of the Stavropol Territory was stopped for inspection for inspection, who said that he was going to Abkhazia on family business. Quite by accident, border guards discovered three rocket launcher cartridges in the car, after which they asked the driver to present all his belongings for a more detailed inspection. Among them, a cardboard box was found filled to the brim with blank forms of various documents with already stamped stamps - IDs of employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and special forces of the GUIN of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation, permits for storing hunting weapons, documents for state awards, etc. All the “crusts” - there were about a hundred of them - were of very good quality, and at first the border guards even recognized them as real. Only the examination showed that these were well-executed fakes. Now the owner of the documents has been detained, and operatives are trying to find out their origin and to whom and why the man was taking them. According to a preliminary version, the documents were going to be used by members of one of the local mafia clans to commit economic scams. It is also possible that the papers were intended for Chechen separatists hiding in Georgia.
