The priest from Cheboksar does not let up

An open letter to the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Alexy II sent the day before the former rector of the Assumption Church of Cheboksary, Priest Andrei Berman, who accused his diocesan bishop - Metropolitan of Cheboksary and Chuvash Barnabas (Kedrova) - in the sin of idolatry. The letter was the priest’s response to the resolution of the Patriarch, who approved the decision of Metropolitan Barnabas on the deprivation of Andrei Berman of the Holy San, the Blagovet-Info reports , the Blagovers-Info reports.

The reason for the confrontation between the priest Andrei Berman and his parishioners on the one hand, and Metropolitan Barnabas and the clergy of the diocese - on the other, was the consecration of the monument to the Motherlander, which the head of the diocese committed in the center of Cheboksary on May 9. According to the priest and his supporters, the appearance of the 17-meter “mother” is endowed with the features of Chuvash pagan deities, and “ritual words” are engraved on the pedestal of the monument: “My children living in love and the world are blessed.”

Andrei Berman announced the breakdown of canonical communication with Metropolitan Barnabas and began to remember the services of only Patriarch Alexy II. He also called on the Patriarch and the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church to create a special commission to investigate the "Act of idolatry", committed by Metropolitan Barnabas. In response, the ruling bishop immediately forbade Andrei Berman in the clergy, and the Assumption Church handed over the Cheboksary Holy Trinity Monastery. With the help of police officers on May 22, the priest and parishioners were not allowed to the temple.

Priest Andrei Berman considers the decision of the patriarch unlawful, because, according to the current charter of the Russian Orthodox Church, adopted by the anniversary bishop's Council on August 16, 2000, “the judicial power in the Russian Orthodox Church is carried out by church courts through church proceedings.“ No other church bodies and persons have the right to assume the functions of the church court. ”Thus, the disgraced priest writes, writes the disgraced priest, writes the disgraced priest Turning to the Patriarch, "the fundamental document by which the Russian Orthodox Church should live, does not give you the right of the church court, however, making a decision regarding my personality, you take on such functions, assigning them illegally."

It is not surprising that the priests now crown homosexuals, despite the direct and tough ban of the Bible.”

Priest Andrei Berman reports his decision to turn to the resolving of the emerging Patriarch Bartholomew as an “arbitration judge”. At the same time, he turned to Patriarch Bartholomew with a request to temporarily accept his coming to the jurisdiction of the Ecumenical Patriarchate and protect him "from the canonical arbitrariness reigning in the Moscow Patriarchate."
