In the Mexican city of Cancun, the Conference of the World Trade Organization is ending. Forum participants are trying to coordinate the draft final resolution. Developing countries believe that the document does not sufficiently focus the need to reduce state subsidizing the US farmers and the European Union countries, which could increase the competitiveness of agricultural products of the third world. The European Union, for its part, is also dissatisfied with the provisions on agricultural subsidies. If the resolution can be signed, it will become the basis for the next round of negotiations on the new global trading pact, the conclusion of which the WTO hopes to achieve by the end of 2004.
