The reasons for the dismissal are acute competition by foreign car manufacturers and a price war on the American car market. Discounts offered by American companies to stimulate sales have reached such sizes that they "eat" all the profit. For the past two years, the total losses of Ford amounted to $ 6.4 billion. Chrysler hoped to get a profit of $ 2 billion this year, but at present it barely reaches a break -in. The situation in General Motors is even more indicative. In the volume of sales in North America in the second quarter of $ 28.6 billion, the profit amounted to only 83 million.

Before the end of this year, Ford plans to reduce approximately 3,000 jobs in North America. 1,700 employees working under a contract will be dismissed, will be reduced in a total of 1300 positions for “suboners”.
