All 33 found miners who were blocked in the Zapadnaya-Kapitalnaya mine in Novoshakhtinsk, Rostov region, were raised to the surface by Saturday evening, RIA Novosti reports .

These 33 people were contacted on Saturday around 6:30. They reported that they were near the cage trunk. The first three miners were brought to the surface around 12:30 p.m.

The rescued miners were taken to the hospital; according to doctors, there is no danger to their lives. At the same time, doctors note that miners who have been underground for more than two days are in a “semi-shocked state.”

The fate of the second group of miners, consisting of 13 people, remains unknown. As ITAR-TASS was informed at the operational headquarters for liquidation of the accident, the search for the miners was started by soldiers of the paramilitary mountain rescue unit. The rescuers are divided into two groups of five people. Their route has been determined. They are moving towards the place where, according to experts, people may be hiding.

The headquarters emphasized that the place where a group of 33 miners were located, who have now been rescued, was calculated with an accuracy of several tens of meters.

The emergency at the Zapadnaya-Kapitalnaya mine, part of Rostovugol Company LLC, occurred on October 23 around 17:00. Groundwater poured into the mine shaft at a level of 420-470 meters, near a large underground lake. At the time of the accident in There were 71 people at the face. 25 miners managed to get to the surface in the first minutes after the shaft broke. Two of them were seriously injured, but their lives, according to doctors, are currently out of danger.

The prosecutor's office of the Rostov region opened a criminal case into the accident. It is being investigated under Article 216, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation - “Violation of safety rules when conducting mining and other work, resulting in serious consequences due to negligence.”
