A spy scandal erupted in Formula 1. The winner of the Cup of Designers - the Ferrari team - accuses the other team - Toyota - of industrial espionage, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the Italian publication 'Gazzetta Dello Sport' .
According to the newspaper, the German police searched the house of an Italian engineer who previously worked for Ferrari, and is now an employee of Toyota. German policemen also interrogated his colleagues of this engineer and searched the Aerodynamics Department in the headquarters of the Toyota team in Cologne.
The newspaper notes that the case on charges of industrial espionage has been instructed only against this particular Toyota employee (whose name is kept secret in the interests of the investigation), and not against the team itself.
However, back in early 2003, many specialists and fans noted that the Toyota carrier of this season is a real double of the Ferrari car.
