The process of postoperative rehabilitation of the President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma proceeds normally, RIA Novosti said Presidential Press Secretary Alena Grumpitskaya with reference to the attending physician of academician Alexander Vozanov.

According to him, the satisfactory state of health of the head of the Ukrainian state allows him to adhere to the working regime - work with documents, read, accept visitors and answer phone calls.

The day before, Kuchma was transferred from the intensive care unit to a regular ward. It is expected that it will be discharged in two to three weeks.

Recall that the state of health of Leonid Kuchma sharply worsened on November 17 , he was hospitalized in the Feofania clinical hospital in Kiev. During the medical examination, the doctors diagnosed "acute thin -brown obstruction against the background of adhesive abdominal disease", which required urgent surgical intervention. During the last hour of the operation, the surgeons dissected the fibrous adhesions of the abdominal cavity.
