The leader of the "Orekhov" group is extradited to Moscow from Spain

Spanish law enforcement agencies extradited one of the leaders of the so -called Orekhov organized criminal group Sergei Butorin to Russia. Tonight, the plane, on board by Butorin, landed at the Sheremetyevo-2 metropolitan airport.

According to ITAR-TASS in the information department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, accused of organizing a series of murders, the leader of the "Orekhovsky" will stay in Moscow for several months. After the end of the necessary investigative actions, he will be sent back to Spain.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs recalled that Butorin and another of the leaders of the organized crime group Marat Polyansky were arrested in the suburbs of Barcelona in February 2001. During the detention, they resisted, and during the search, their weapons were seized. As a result, the Spanish court sentenced Butorin and Polyansky to eight years and eight months in prison. Polyansky was extracted from Spain in August this year. In addition, they reminded the Ministry of Internal Affairs, now the issue of extradition from this country is the leaders of the "Medvedkovskaya" group of Andrei Pylev, detained in the province of Malag in May 2001.

According to the Moscow Central Internal Affairs Directorate, during the investigation of the activities of the Orekhov and Medvedkovo groups, 44 murders were disclosed and a huge amount of weapons were seized. 21 people were arrested in these cases, three more are under the subscription about the lower room. Eight are put on the wanted list. Among the disclosed crimes committed by these organized crime groups - the murders in 1998 of the Russian Gold Vice President Nodari Gelashvili, a number of entrepreneurs, law enforcement officers and a lawyer who defended a representative of another group.
