According to traders, in the morning the prices of most Russian shares at the RTS and MICEX began to grow, but the game for raising ceased after reports about the terrorist attack at the National Hotel.
The traders also note that an unconfirmed message that Yukos and Sibneft will remain independent companies and will not unite in the price of Yukos shares and will not be united.
At the same time, experts note that the gap of the merger of the Yukos and Sibneft did not cause a strong collapse in the market, since it was already laid down in the price of shares. As the chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Renaissance Capital Alexander Shokhin said at a press conference at RIA Novosti , "the probability of the breakdown of the transaction was very high, I estimated it at 95%," said Shokhin.
He added that when the transaction breaks, both business and political considerations, as well as material losses, had weight. “The courts in the Yukos case can be long enough, during this time Sibneft could have acquired a lot,” said Shokhin.
