
In Bashkiria, in the second round of voting on the election of the President of the Republic, according to 18:00 local time (16:00 in Moscow), 59.5% of voters voted on Sunday. This was reported to "Interfax" by the chairman of the CEC of the Republic of Belarus Bary Kinzyagulov. He recalled that at the same hour in the first round of elections a 67.36%turnout was recorded.
In Ufa, about 44% of voters have already completed their civic duty.
According to the head of the Republican headquarters of the presidential candidate Murtazi Rakhimov Fidus Yamaltdinov, the elections are calm.
"Voting takes place within the framework of the legal field, the situation is working, no excesses or complaints about violations of the electoral legislation were received from places," he said at a briefing in Ufa
Yamaltdinov noted that observers and representatives from the headquarters of Rakhimov are present at each of the 3449 polling stations in the republic. According to the head of the headquarters, the activity of voters is "quite high, which indicates a great interest in the residents of the republic in who will become the president of Bashkortostan for the next five years."
Voting takes place from 8 to 22 hours.
The current state post of the Republic of Belarus is claimed by the current president of the Republic of Murtaza Rakhimov and entrepreneur Sergey Veremeenko, who were ahead of six rivals in the first round on December 7.
To win in the second round, the candidate needs to dial a simple majority of votes with any voters.
Yamaltdinov recalled that the preliminary results of the vote will be summed up in the morning of December 22.
