Saudi Arabia and Kuwait are ready to write off Iraqi debts

The governments of Saudi Arabia and Kuwait informed the United States that they were ready to discuss the possibility of writing off part of the debts of Iraq. However, specific agreements can be reached no earlier than the power in Iraq is transferred to the sovereign of the Iraqi government, Reuters reports.

Both countries did not report how many debts they were ready to write off, and abandoned any agreements on this issue with the American occupation authorities.
