Seven candidates for the president of the country are signed, a Congress of ATP is being held, Rogozin curses with Glazyev, the report “On the Treat of Putinism” is published - and other main news of this week on Polit.ru 20 years ago.
“Independent Gazeta” today publishes a letter from the co-founders of the 2008: Free choice of Boris Nemtsov and Vladimir Kara-Murza (included by the Ministry of Justice on the list of foreign agents on April 22, 2022-approx. Polit.ru). The letter is addressed to the supporters of President Putin - to those who are going to vote on March 14 for him. According to the authors of the letter, now the authorities without any efforts have ensured the appearance of socio-economic well-being due to high oil prices, foreign policy calm and the framework of a market economy built during the years of Yeltsin. However, the basis of the current regime is an oil factor and censorship. A new socio-political formation appeared in the country-Putinism, the letter says. Its formula: one -party system, censorship, puppet parliament, the cessation of independent justice, the strict centralization of power and finance, the hypertrophied role of special services and bureaucracy, including in relation to business.
The authors of the letter identify five threats of Putinism. The first threat is the barracks banditry and the collapse of the armed forces. Every year, 20 thousand Russian boys suffer from "grandfature", and a whole battalion perishes from the hazardous relations in the army. At the same time, the topic of combat readiness of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation was turned into a taboo. The second threat is a beggarly old age for 70 million working Russians. The state pension “accumulated” by citizens can simply evaporate if, for example, oil prices fall. The third threat is a rampant crime. The fourth is the persecution of entrepreneurs. Upon charges against the Prosecutor General of Yukos shareholders can be put another 15 million Russian businessmen, the letter said. And, finally, the fifth threat is the impoverishment of the Russian province and the collapse of the communal infrastructure of cities. Under Yeltsin, the authors of the letter say, 50% of the tax fees remained in the regions, and today the federal center takes 65% of the income from the province.
The authors of the letter have no doubt that Putin will win in the presidential election. However, they say, the president’s activity gives reason to believe that in his hands the 80 percent mandate from voters will mean card-blanche, including to arbitrariness.
Representatives of the initiative group of candidate Vladimir Putin yesterday said that more than 7 million signatures were collected in his support, ITAR-TASS reports. Veshnyakov also stated that the violations will be strictly applied if “not signatures, but hieroglyphs and drawn autographs”. True, what is a drawn autograph is incomprehensible.

To the questions of the Polit.ru correspondent about the results of the congress of the Union of Right Forces and the member of the Political Council of the ATP, former State Duma deputy Boris Nadezhdin, answered the directions of further work of the party.
Like Boris Nemtsov, Nadezhdin considers the main result of the congress the preservation of the party. “Contrary to rumors and forecasts, we did not split, did not die and showed that the ATP is a completely combat -ready and living party,” said Boris Nadezhdin. The main evidence that the party retains its unity was the support of Irina Khakamada for Nadezhdina: “After all, one must understand the following: the question of Putin’s support was not even posed. It seems to me that about half of the delegates are supported by Khakamada unconditionally, and the second half is embarrassed by the fact of its self-nomination and rhetoric about the Nordo. If she had not acted with such a sharp criticism of Putin, I think that all the ATP would support her. ”
Regarding the possible candidate of the party leader, Boris Nadezhdin also suggested that the governor Ivan Starikov could become him. However, he emphasized that this issue will be resolved after the presidential election. “Of course, the results of the elections on March 14 are obvious, but the consequences are not obvious. After all, Putin can gain both 90%and 70%, and Hakamad, say, 5%, and then the situation can be different. We are all waiting for the results of the elections, the formation of a new government, where many of us can enter. Consequently, the status of people who are now in the political officer may change. That is why, the issue of the party leader should be resolved precisely after the presidential election, ”said Boris Nadezhdin.
Future: Boris Nadezhdin in 2008-2011-a member of the Federal Political Council of the Just business party, after trying for many years to be elected to different bodies, succeeded only in 2019-now he is in the Council of Deputies of Dolgoprudny, Moscow Region. In October 2023, he nominated his candidacy for the presidential election. The party "SPS" was dissolved in 2008.

At the moment, Nikolai Kharitonov is the chairman of the State Duma Committee on the Development of the Far East and the Arctic.
