Signature sheets will be checked by random numbers generator

Today, the CEC has approved the procedure for random sample when checking the signature sheets of candidates for the president of Russia, ITAR-TASS reports. In accordance with it, the sample will be carried out by a working group using a random number generator. The volume of random sample of signature sheets is 600 thousand or 30% of the two million signatures necessary for registration. The working group in the presence of a candidate or his proxy is checking the signatures selected in this way.

If the number of inaccurate and invalid signatures of voters is 25% or more from the total number of signatures checked, an additional random sample is carried out. For the second time, its volume will be 200 thousand signatures or 10% of the quantity necessary for registration. In accordance with the law, the CEC is given for consideration of the issue of official registration of the candidate 10 days. Thus, until February 8, it will become known who will be included in the ballot balloon in the upcoming presidential election.
