
In the area of Komsomolsk-on-Amur on Wednesday morning, the Su-24 front-line bomber had an accident. Both pilots were baptized. This was announced by the head of the press service of the Air Force of the Russian Federation, Colonel Alexander Drobyshevsky.
The accident occurred at 6:52 Moscow time. The pilots performed a planned training flight. When landing, there was a refusal of the mechanism for rearranging the wing to the landing position.
According to the preliminary version, the cause of the accident is technical. It occurred near the village of Khurba, 10 km from Komsomolsk-on-Amur. The pilots managed to take the plane to the safe area, after which they were bought up, ITAR-TASS reports.
“There is no consequences of the accident from the fall of the plane on Earth,” Drobyshevsky said.
According to him, the crew was selected by the search and rescue service and delivered to the Hurba airfield, where a medical examination is currently undergoing.
By order of the Commander-in-Chief of the Air Force, a commission was created to investigate the Su-24 accident.
