Roma President is negotiating with the Russian company on the sale of the club

President of the Italian football club Roma Franco Sensi confirmed the information that negotiations are currently underway to buy his team with a Russian company, RIA Novosti reports.

“It is true that we are negotiating,” said the 77 -year -old Boss of the club, which now owns 63.77 percent of the club’s shares. “But, apparently, negotiations will be very long.”

In an interview with the Italian publication, Gazzetta Dello Sport Sensi also said that in any case he would remain as the honorary president of Roma.

According to the newspaper, at the end of last year, the Russian company NAFTA-Moscow joined negotiations on the acquisition of a control package of shares of a Roman club worth 400 million euros. According to various sources, the total amount of Roma debt is estimated at about 500 million euros.

At the same time, the financial problem should be solved quickly: until February 28, all clubs who want to participate in international competitions must submit their budgets in UEFA.

“Roma” can be the third club of far abroad, where the capital of Russian businessmen is invested. Recall that last summer, the London Chelsea was bought by Russian Roman Abramovich, and at the end of the summer the company "Fedkominvest" received its share in French "Monaco", which is the head of which is Russian Alexei Fedorintsev.
