The number of accredited participants in grain interventions on the National Commodity Exchange and the Central Russian Universal Exchange on the third day of exchange trading increased almost 4 times - to 139, the MICEX press service reported yesterday. They were flour and cereal enterprises from all seven federal districts. 100 organizations from six zones were admitted to the auction: “North-West”, “Center”, “Volga Region-1”, “Volga Region-2”, “South-1” and “South-2”.

Starting from February 25, 2004, trading is carried out on seven exchange platforms: TsRUB (Moscow), SPVB (St. Petersburg), RVSE (Rostov-on-Don), SVMB (Samara), NVSE ( Nizhny Novgorod), URVB (Ekaterinburg), SMVB (Novosibirsk).

For auction on February 25, 2004. food wheat of the 3rd and 4th classes and food rye of group A were exhibited in the volume of 16 thousand 100 tons, 19 thousand 100 tons and 6 thousand 400 tons, respectively, in the form of standard lots of 65 tons each and non-standard (residual) lots. Delivery is carried out from elevators in the Republic of Tatarstan, as well as in the Voronezh, Lipetsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Orenburg, Samara and Saratov regions.

Exchange trading was carried out in the form of 28 mini-sessions, during which 40 transactions were concluded for 36 thousand 455 tons. Thus, on the third day of exchange trading, flour and cereal enterprises of the Northwestern, Central, Southern and Volga federal districts purchased about 36.5 thousand tons of grain from the intervention fund through a unified electronic grain trading system.

Let us recall that the government decree “On conducting state commodity interventions in the grain market in 2004” was signed on January 30, 2004, and the rules of exchange trading were approved on February 10, 2004. According to the forecast of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, the number of participants for the entire period of grain interventions, which can last 3 months, will be from 128 to 184 companies.
