
The spiritual leaders of the CIS must confront terrorism and violence together. This, according to RIA Novosti , said today in Moscow by the head of the Supreme Religious Council of the peoples of the Caucasus of Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pasha-Zade, speaking at the II inter-religious peacekeeping forum of the CIS countries. The spiritual leader of the Muslims of the Caucasus along with the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Alexy II is one of the initiators of this forum.
"Time dictates the need to create a constant inter -religious CIS Forum," said the chairman of the Supreme Religious Council of the peoples of the Caucasus. According to him, "terrorism and violence have become the hallmark of the new century", and the Religious leaders of the CIS "are obliged to do everything possible in order to spiritually disarm and expose the forces of evil."
Pasha-Zade emphasized that "for the first time in history, such a representative meeting of the religious leaders of the CIS countries is being held." “We were born and lived in the same state,” he said, “and the peoples of the CIS must keep and develop the best that was in their relations in the historical past.”
The chairman of the Supreme Religious Council of the peoples of the Caucasus expressed gratitude to Russian President Vladimir Putin for a high assessment of religious potential in strengthening the world. He also noted that the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev also attaches great importance to the Moscow forum.
The Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of all Armenians Garen II also welcomed the holding of inter -religious CIS forums and the creation of the inter -religious CIS Council, in particular, “its important peacekeeping mission”.
