The FSB of Russia officially confirmed that one of the leaders of the militants in Chechnya Ruslan Gelaev was eliminated in the mountains of Dagestan.

"Gelaeva was identified by previously detained militants and persons who knew him well, in particular, by the nature of the injury on his leg, personal things and a dash, with whom he never parted," the representative of the FSB of Russia said on Tuesday Interfax.

The forensic medical examination also confirmed that one of the leaders of Chechen militants Ruslan Gelaev was destroyed in Dagestan. This was announced by the representative of the power structures of the Southern Federal District of the Russian Federation.

"The prosecutor's office of Dagestan conducted investigative actions, during which it was confirmed that the discovered corpse is really Gelaev. He was identified by four detained militants," the agency’s interlocutor said.

The press service of the North Caucasian border of the FSB of the Russian Federation on the eve reported that Gelaev was liquidated on February 28 in Dagestan on the site of the Khunzakh border detachment. Two border guards were also killed in the battle.

According to other sources, Gelaev was destroyed on February 29 as a result of the battle, which occurred around 15:30 Moscow time 5 km from the village of Bezht in the Tsuntinsky district.

In the mountainous areas in the snow with gunshot wounds, the bodies of two border guards of the FSB of Russia - foremen Suleimanov and Sergeant Kurbanov were discovered. They are both local residents and served on a contract.

After the execution of border guards against Gelaev and his people, a large -scale military operation began with the involvement of artillery, aviation and armored vehicles.

Separated into detachments, the militants ran around the Dagestan mountains for almost a month, from time to time capturing and freeing small mountain villages. As a result, most of the Gelaevites were killed, one of them managed to go through the passes to Georgia and Chechnya. Eight bandits from Gelaev’s closest encirclement - just those who shot the border guards - were captured.

During the persecution of militant detachments, representatives of the federal command several times reported the liquidation of Gelaev himself, but in the end it was not able to find it either among the living or among the dead.

As it turned out later, the Black Angel slipped from the special forces, and at the same time from his subordinates immediately after the execution of the border guards, and all the chases and shootings were nothing more than the distracting maneuver of the militants in order to get out of the blow of their commander.

While the rest froze in mountain caves, died under the avalanches and blows of federal aviation, actually causing fire to himself, a black angel with a faithful bodyguard nicknamed the bull sat down in a shepherd Koshara near the village of Shauri.

With a bull and a shepherd - the owner of the Koshara, who have now hit the run, Dagestan operatives still hope to meet, so they asked not to name their surnames.

On Saturday, February 28, presumably a bull with a shepherd on UAZ took Ruslan Gelaev in the lower reaches of the bowl gorge coming from the village of Bezhts to the Pankisian Gorge of Georgia.

There the black angel was left alone. Saying goodbye to the accomplices, he moved up the gorge. Having lost all his army during the unsuccessful Dagestan raid, the commander decided to go through the passes to the main base in the Pankisian Gorge, where his wives, children and other many relatives still live.

Gelaev died with Alenka chocolate in his hand

Gelaev died by accident, meeting with two 22 -year -old local residents - ordinary Abdulkhalik Kurbanov and Mukhtar Suleimanov.

Having served an urgent on a small one, not even having a border post, the guys remained to guard the border under the contract.

By accident on the road, they stumbled upon a militant. In the man who was walking towards the man, perhaps even an experienced border guard would not recognize Hamzat (the Muslim name of Ruslan Gelaev). A disheveled beard, black training pants "Adidas" with elongated knees, a shabby jacket-Alaska, rubber boots to the knees and a knitted hat made him like a homeless person than a formidable field commander. How the events developed further, now it will never be possible to establish, the newspaper writes.

Most likely, one of the border guards called out or tried to verify the documents from the counterclap - in response, an automatic queue rang out. The fire was almost at point -blank - apparently, Gelaev until the last moment hid Kalashnikov’s short -barreled machine under Kalashnikov, so both border guards immediately fell, dousing with blood. A bullet that fell into the head, Private Suleimanov was killed on the spot.

Abdulkhalik Kurbanov, wounded in the chest, managed to shoot in response. His bullets crushed the left elbow of Gelaev and almost tore off his hand. But the wounded action movie was not stopped.

As Dagestan police officers say, the death of an ordinary Kurbanov also came from a bullet wound to the head - Gelaev finished him with two shots at point blank range. And shot, holding the machine gun in one hand.

The most black angel was not long to live. About how the field commander spent the last minutes of his life, eloquently testified to traces in the snow.

Immediately after the execution of the border guards, Gelaev rushed up the gorge, but ran only about fifty meters - the forces melted with every step, because blood whipped out of the commander's hands. Gelaev fought for life to the last. Judging by the pool of blood, he stopped, cut off his left hand and threw it into the snow with a knife.

Then he took a rubber tourniquet from the field first -aid kit, put it on a bleeding stump, took a few more steps, fell, got up again. The Black Angel passed another half meters and stopped again. He pulled out a soluble Nescafe from his pocket, chewed the powder, apparently hoping that this would give him strength. Then he took out and bit the tile of Alenka's chocolate.

The last meters towards the border of Georgia, the field commander crawled on all fours. He died in this position with a chocolate culak in a fist.

His corpse was found by police officers who went to the wanted list of border guards who had not reached their native. In addition to chocolate and coffee in the things of the deceased commander, they found a piece of jerky lamb lard, $ 200, the packaging of the Rollton vermichel, a notebook with a long list of mobile phone numbers and the map of the Tsuntinsky district of Dagestan, on which the path of its grouping in December last year was marked.
