Advisor to Yasir Arafat was killed in Gaza

In the Palestinian city of Gaza, unknown people shot the adviser Yasir Arafat, prominent journalist Halil Az-Zabin on Tuesday. According to Palestinian sources, the attack was committed after midnight when Az-Zabin left his office.

The attackers shot a journalist several times, and as a result of the wounds he died on the way to the hospital. 59-year-old Az-Zabin headed the Ang Nashra magazine financed by the Palestinian National Administration.

For a long time, he has been one of the closest supporters of Arafat and served as his adviser to human and media rights, RIA Novosti reports.

He was also among the veterans of the Fath movement. His monthly publication focused the reader's attention on the problem of observing the rights of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons.

Recently, Palestinian journalists have repeatedly called on the leadership of autonomy to investigate a series of recent attacks on them in the Gaza Strip and on the west coast of Jordan.
