The spiritual leaders of the CIS must unite for the education of youth in the spirit of tolerance, according to the chief rabbi of Russia ( the Federation of Jewish communities of Russia - Feor) Berl Lazar , RIA Novosti reports.

“In our society, tolerance is in great lack of,” Berl Lazar said in Moscow at the II inter -religious peacekeeping forum of the CIS. At the same time, according to the rabbi, society and religious leaders even need "much more than tolerance." "We need general joint work for the benefit of each other, for the benefit of humanity," he said.

“Having united, we will be able to educate a new generation in the spirit of universal values, we can withstand extremism,” Lazar emphasized.

According to him, "Judaism considers the unification of people as an extremely important positive thing, of course, when the purpose of this unification is positive."

In turn, the chief rabbi of Russia Adolf Shaevich ( Congress of Jewish religious communities and Russian organizations - Keror) noted that the inter -religious peacekeeping forum serves as the beginning of hard work, which will need to be continued on the ground.

The forum is attended not only by leaders of traditional confessions in the space of the Commonwealth (Orthodoxy, Armenian-Grigorianism, Islam , Judaism, Buddhism), but also high-ranking statesmen who attach great importance to the peacekeeping efforts of clergy.

“There is no conflict of civilizations, there is a conflict of ignorance,” said the acting Minister of the Russian Federation Vladimir Zorin, head of the Government Commission for Religious Associations. According to him, the spiritual leaders of the CIS must do everything so that our future is confident, and peace and consent reign in society.
