
Next week, March 22-23, a meeting of the Executive Committee of the European Council of Religious Leaders will be held in Moscow, in which prominent religious figures in Europe will take part.
As Interfax was told today in the department of external church relations of the Moscow Patriarchate (MPC MP), among them - Archbishop of Brussels and Mechelensky Cardinal Godfried Duniels (Belgium), Lutheran Bishop Gunnar Polsett (Norway), General Secretary of the World Conference of Religious Vendley religions (USA), the main rabbi of France Rene Samuel Sirat, the main mufti of Bosnia Mustafa Cerich.
The meeting participants will have to discuss the relations of the European Council of Religious Leaders with other religious organizations in Europe, the prospects for the development of dialogue of religions, cultures and civilizations in the world.
The European Council of Religious Leaders was formed in 2002 at the initiative of six religious figures, heading the World Conference of Religions for Peace from the European Region. The council included Orthodox, Catholic, Protestant, Islamic, Jewish and other religious figures.
The co -chair of the European Council of Religious Leaders is the head of the MP MP Metropolitan Smolensky and Kaliningrad Kirill (Gundyaev) - one of the initiators of the creation of the Council.
