
Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia and operatives of the Moscow Central Internal Affairs Directorate of Moscow stopped the channel of smuggling to the territory of the capital of computer equipment. As a result of a special operation, more than 100 thousand computers with a total cost of more than $ 20 million were seized from a criminal turnover.
According to law enforcement agencies, some time ago, the operatives of the Moscow Central Internal Affairs Directorate and investigators of the prosecutor's office of the North-Eastern Administrative District received information that a large batch of smuggled computer equipment was expected in the district.
During the investigation, it was found that computers were imported into the territory of Moscow by freight vehicles, which arrived in Russia through the customs terminal in Kursk. When checking the customs post, it was found that computers were imported to Russia under the guise of hammer, screwdrivers, wrench and other construction tools.
Also on the territory of the terminal, copies and originals of documents confirming the smuggling origin of the cargo, fake seals of Moscow notaries were found and seized.
On this fact, the prosecutor's office of the Kursk region opened a criminal case, including in relation to a number of senior managers of local customs, Interfax reports.
At the same time, the prosecutor's office of the North-Eastern District of Moscow opened a criminal case against the head of a number of commercial structures, according to law enforcement agencies, the organizer of smuggling.
