20 large terrorist attacks were prevented in Chechnya

Federal forces prevented a series of large terrorist acts on the territory of the Chechen Republic. This was announced by Interfax by the representative of the regional operational headquarters (Rosh) on the management of the counter -terrorism operation in the North Caucasus Colonel Ilya Shabalkin.

According to him, during the operational-search measures on the outskirts of the village of Dzhugurt, the Kurchaloevsky district, a cache was discovered, which stored from 100 to 120 kg of explosives in the TNT equivalent.

Using these explosives, bandits could perform up to 20 terrorist acts.

Shabalkin noted that terrorist attacks are prevented thanks to information received from three underground participants who surrendered the day before to law enforcement agencies of the republic.

Hizir Magomadov and two other militants who operated on the territory of Kurchaloevsky and Nozhai-Yurt districts appeared with a guilty. They entered the group led by Umar-Ali Saydaev, the former chief of security Zelimkhan Yandarbiev.

Currently, Saydaev is abroad and carries out the border of money for the maintenance of Maskhadov’s gangs, Shabalkin said.

According to him, it is by order of Aslan Maskhadov that the attacks in Chechnya and abroad are being prepared and performed.

“The surrendered militants said that one of the motives that prompted them to abandon illegal actions was a turnout from the guilty of the former leaders of the so -called Ichkeria, such as the former Minister of Defense Magomed Khambiev and the head of the so -called special department Boris Aydamirov,” said Shabalkin.

In the scan indicated by the militants, in addition to explosives, 7 anti -tank mines, 5 shots to a grenade launcher, powder charges, 3 charges to the thunder gun, shells, 21 grenades, ammunition, as well as a detonating cord and a night vision from the power supply were found.

Over the past day, except for these three militants, three more former participants in illegal armed groups surrendered. Two of them legalized through relatives and friends in the Vedensky district. Their relatives turned to law enforcement agencies, reporting the intention of the militants to surrender if they are given security guarantees. Another militant surrendered in the city of Argun.
