Nine Iraqis, including the bodyguard of the former vice president, were arrested near Tikrit.

On Saturday, in the Tikrita area (180 kilometers north of Baghdad), US troops arrested nine Iraqis suspected of participating in anticoan operations, RIA Novosti reports.

According to the Iranian television channel Al-Alyam, among the arrested were the bodyguard of the man "number two" in the former Iraqi leadership-Ibrahim Ad-Duri.

For assistance in the capture of ad-Duri, the command of the coalition forces in Iraq announced a reward of $ 10 million.

During the general searches in the village, located ten kilometers from Tikrit - the birthplace of Saddam Hussein, a large number of weapons and ammunition were discovered.
